Palm kernel shell
Obtained after crude palm oil pressing; hard, high calorific fuel
It is obtained after crude palm oil pressing. The shell sits between the outer palm fiber and the inner kernel. Palm kernel shell is produced after the kernel is separated. It is typically brown and hard, with a high calorific value per unit of energy, so it is widely used as a substitute fuel today. It is abundant in southern Thailand.
