PKS and EFB both come from the palm chain, but they play different roles in a boiler. PKS is the higher-energy, lower-moisture briefing grade; EFB is wetter and needs yard and feed systems that accept it.
Do not substitute one for the other without engineering sign-off. Whole EFB can wrap screws; chopped EFB handles better but stays wet.
Many plants use PKS as a base or blend component and EFB when wet fuel volume and storage allow.
