PKS vs wood chip for biomass power plants

ParameterTypical specification
PKS — net calorific value3,800–4,500 kcal/kg
PKS — moistureMax 25% by weight
PKS — ashMax 5% by weight
Wood chip — net calorific valueAbove 2,500 kcal/kg
Wood chip — moistureMax 45% by weight
Wood chip — ashMax 3% by weight

Figures from Admine product specs used in supply talks — not a lab certificate for every lot.

PKS typically offers a higher calorific band and a tighter moisture ceiling in Admine’s briefing specs. Wood chip suits boilers designed for 1–2 inch chips with different ash and moisture limits.

Choose PKS when you need energy per tonne and tighter moisture control. Choose wood chip when the feed system and wood supply plan fit better—or blend only after engineering approval.

Origin and trucking distance change delivered cost. Southern palm yards and wood sources are not interchangeable logistics.

Admine can supply either grade after you confirm boiler limits and delivery point.
